U.S. 40 Cross Section of the United States of America (Chapter 13: Ridge and Valley)

Intro to chapter 13:

The view is eastward, from where U.S. 40 crosses the summit of Town Mountain, toward Sideling Hill. 

The long and level skyline, formed by a narrow ridge, is typical of the Ridge and Valley Province, and indeed the whole Appalachian region.
