U.S. 40 Cross Section of the United States of America (Chapter 11: Horrible Example)

 
That was then (1953)



Intro to chapter 11:
The westward-traveling motorist, turning sharply to the right as he leaves the village of Funkstown, then swerving again, crosses the old bridge over sluggish Antietam Creek.  Both road and bridge are reminders of old Maryland.
 
This is now.
