Verona Public Library in the news:
City budget comes back down to earth. (Verona Press, 9/21/2018)
For the past three years, the City of Verona has had the luxury of addressing its highest priorities without compromise. It’s brought the fire department to 24/7 service, it’s added Sunday hours at the library and it’s beefed up rolling funds to ensure sustainability even during down times. It’s also adjusted personnel, creating economic development, human resources, assistant planner and construction inspector positions and adding support staff for the library, city administration and police departments.

Chapter 10: Library building celebrates a decade at community's core. (ConnectVerona, 5/10/2016)
Nearly 10 years after Verona built its iconic public library – one that opens eyes as much as minds – Susan Hedrick returned to the building last month and brought an architect with her. Hedrick had served as the library’s director from 2004 to 2007, when the library shifted from an undersized, cramped facility off North Main Street to a soaring jewel on the edge of Badger Prairie County Park, combining community pride and popularity.
Verona Public Library to host 'Native Voices' exhibition in 2018. (ConnectVerona, 2/10/2016)
VPL is in some select company once again after being chosen to host “Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness,” an education exhibition that will travel to 104 libraries across throughout the next four years. According to a press release last week from the library, the exhibition features interviews with “Native people who describe the impact of epidemics, federal legislation, the loss of land, and the inhibition of culture on the health of Native individuals and communities today.”
