Emerson bounced around in the 300-range of the baby names chart during the first two decades of the 20th century, then zigzagged his way to the bottom of the chart, falling off after 1969.  He came up for air multiple times, but it wasn't until after 2000 when he regained his strength and quickly moved up the ladder.  His current position at #267 is his personal best.

Popularity of Thomas as a baby name is graphed here.  Not to mention Harold and Louise.  Which leaves us with Melissa.

Working her way through a rough period of ups and downs during the early 20th century, 'Melissa' was unable to hold on consistently during the 1920s and early 30s.  Rehabilitated, she returned and eventually made her way into the stratosphere of baby names for girls, spending 18 weeks in the top 10 (1967-1984), 3 of them at #2 (1977-1979).  The 21st century has not been all that good to her.

Tressa made two efforts to establish herself on the baby names chart.  They both failed.  Between 1900 and 1919, she peaked at #663 in 1905 but spent the teens as a bottom feeder.  Between 1966 and 1975, she managed to spend 3 years in the mid-700s,  That's all folks!
