Dashboard. Wisconsin Department of Health Services
Madeline Heim reports:
More than 140 people in southwest Wisconsin now have come down with measles and two more have been hospitalized as the state's worst measles outbreak in decades expands.
A Sept. 4 update from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services shows 65 cases in Lafayette County, 62 in Iowa County and 15 in Grant County. A handful of those cases are probable, meaning people are showing clinical symptoms of measles but the disease has not yet been lab-confirmed.
In a media briefing the prior day, Stephanie Schauer, the state's immunization program manager, said the two staffers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who had come to Wisconsin to assist with the outbreak were headed home Sept. 4.
