Monday morning, incensed LGBTQ rights advocates flooded the Iowa Capitol hallways, trying to drown out the bill's subcommittee hearing with chants of "trans rights are human rights" and "we're here, we're queer, we will not disappear."
After lawmakers said they were having difficulty hearing supporters of the bill testify, state troopers used a megaphone to direct protesters toward the Capitol rotunda and then handcuffed and arrested two of the demonstrators.
