Aditi Debnath: Can you tell me about the speaker vote? You chose to vote present and abstain from that vote. Can you tell me what your reasoning was?
State Rep. Lindee Brill: Sure, so when I announced I was going to run, that was one of the things I ran on, and I thought it was time for new leadership within the Assembly. So some would even say that it was a campaign promise of mine. So, I did vote that way. We did elect Speaker Vos as our speaker, so I will work with him and leadership and everyone within the Assembly to bring conservative change and maintain conservative values in our state. So I respect how the vote went. That's how our founding fathers created this to go. And I look forward to being a part of the Republican Party and the Assembly entirely moving forward, so.
Aditi Debnath: Why do you feel the leadership needs to change?
State Rep. Lindee Brill: Well, I no longer do, 'cause the vote did go the way it did. I just felt we needed to head in a more conservative direction. [emphasis added]Aditi didn't do her homework.
