Samsung Gear S2 review.  A clinic on what a smartwatch should be  (Verge, 10/13/2015
It’s far from a perfect device, and it has numerous issues that keep me from recommending it without reservations. But it offers some interesting ideas for how a smartwatch should look and function that make it both an intriguing device and a learning lesson for the rest of the industry. If Samsung built a reference smartwatch for others to take advantage of, this would be it.

The question I had when smartwatches first started making news:  What kind of market is there for them?

Well, Apple, the big leader in this category, has sold 12 million of its smartwatches, according to this report in Wareable.  Samsung will likely to be challenged to reach this level of sales.

One thing going against it is less stellar reviews than Apple, which has a 4.6 average.

Apple's 42mm version has 871 customer reviews, with 71% of them at 5 stars.

Bottom line:  My wife bought me a Fitbit for my birthday last year.  I'll need some major convincing to make a smartwatch purchase.
