United Sportsmen of Wisconsin Pleads to IRS for Mercy, Blames Its Problems on a Dead Guy

United Sportsmen seeks exemption from penalty for faulty tax filings. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 1/12/2014)

Chutzpah is the word for it.   In its unsigned [???] letter, the group said the tax mistakes had largely been made by board member Scott Maves, who was in charge of its finances and who died in June.

The latest news on the group's website -- "Calling All Hunters" -- is for an August 19, 2013, public hearing on Assembly Bill 194.
