Wednesday, November 7, 1951 -- ten days after Frank's divorce from first wife Nancy was finalized. (Ten days after my 2nd birthday.)
Daughter Nancy, who was 11 at the time, sums it up in 37 words.
Dad married Ava at the suburban Philadelphia home of Lester Sacks, Manie's brother, with Axel Stordahl as his best man. It was Ava's third marriage; her first two were to actor Mickey Rooney and bandleader Artie Shaw.
Please, Mr. Postman, is there an invite in your bag for me?
