100 Years of Frank Sinatra: "The Shining Future"

The Shining Future by nicoley13

Warner Brothers filmed this 20-minute short feature in 1944 for the Dominion of Canada's National War Finance Committee   A version for American audiences was re-edited and re-titled as "Road To Victory."

The slim plot, set in 1960, features Mom and Dad counting their blessings and Junior complaining about steak for dinner every night while they watch a series of musical performances from 1944.

Frank Sinatra sings "Hot Time in Old Town of Berlin" starting at 3:12.

Dad would have been in his first months as pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn Washington at this time.  Perhaps the baby he is holding is the one that he baptized.
