Chubby Checker's 7th single to reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, "Limbo Rock" debuted at #85 for the week ending September 8, 1962. It spent 23 weeks on the charts, 12 in the top 10, peaking at #2. A most tiresome run for those of us who lived through it.
