In Adams County, as well as many other rural Iowa counties, Republicans have been losing voters since 1900.
Democrats have been losing rural voters across the U.S. since the 1960s.
At the same time, a former rural county like Hamilton, just north of Indianapolis/Marion County, is booming and leaving its deep-red roots behind.
There's lots more where came from.
