Jim McKee: Arthur County can make several smallest claims. (Lincoln Journal-Star, 1/20/2018)
Arthur County was once part of Logan and later McPherson counties before finally becoming autonomous in 1913. Without a railroad, major trail or direct access to Interstate 80, and only one incorporated village, it is occasionally mentioned as a candidate for consolidation, interestingly, perhaps combining with Logan or McPherson.
