Letter to the Editor: Scott Township Meeting Room Belongs to Taxpayers
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 12/8/2011.
Excerpt: The commissioners meeting room. Really? The municipal building and other township facilities belong to the taxpayers of Scott Township. The commissioners' very comfortable meeting area is appropriately situated apart from the section of the community room where often times other meetings are held.
As for the commissioners not allowing the children's librarian access to this room for children's programming, that is inconceivable. The Scott library is a wonderful, bright spot in the township for children and adults.
Library space is very limited, especially in the children's section. Sherry Small, children's librarian, provides excellent, high quality, educational and fun programming for children of all ages. An average of 30 children attend. Without the use of a larger area, these programs will necessarily be very limited.
