Unique desk focal point of new Fond du Lac Library Express. (Fond du Lac Reporter, 12/12/2011)
Excerpt: Dozens of people gathered Saturday to help the Fond du Lac Public Library celebrate the opening of its first-ever branch location.
Highlighting the new FDLPL Express at the Shops at Johnson Crossing was the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind, custom-made granite-topped circulation desk made of books.
The desk was designed and created for the branch by a local team that includes Lindsey Bovinet of Interior Systems Inc; Axel Mendez and Paco de la Torre of AMC Countertops; Susan Fiebig and Trista Holz of Fond du Lac Visual Arts; and architect Tom Meiklejohn.
The creation was fashioned after a desk made of books at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
