Library's new bookmobile is unveiled. (Ames Tribune, 12/20/2014)
This is the fourth Bookmobile in the program’s 50 year history, which brings books and other library materials to various locations throughout town during the week. The new Bookmobile will hit the streets on Jan. 5. The former vehicle is now owned by the City of Ames’ Fleet Services.
The previous Bookmobile was purchased in 2001 but had suffered mechanical failures and being outdated for technology advances in recent years. The one prior, which is the one Briseño grew up with, served the library for 20 years.
This new bus was custom built OBS, Inc., based on Canton, Ohio.
