Show of Support by IMCPL Advocates

Library supporters turn out to show support for more funding. (Indianapolis Star, 1/25/2011)

Excerpt: More than 100 library supporters filled row after row in the City-County Council assembly room Monday, clutching textbooks, novels, biographies and even children's books.

Wrap-around covers carried a simple message: "Don't forget the libraries!"

The council then put off its planned vote on a resolution aimed at finding more money for the Indianapolis library system.

But President Ryan Vaughn assured attendees that the council won't forget. The proposal will be back soon, he said, after a committee irons out differences over the resolution's language
