GET ME REWRITE: Trump lackey Jeanine Pirro stumbles out of the starting block with retribution case against Jerome Powell

Headline:  New York Times, 3/16/2026

Michael S. Schmidt and Alan Feuer report:
But Judge Boasberg found that Ms. Pirro’s office did not even meet the extremely low threshold needed to send the subpoenas, ruling there was “essentially zero evidence to suspect Chair Powell of a crime.”  [emphasis added]
The Justice Department had pursued grand jury subpoenas for information about the renovations underway at the Federal Reserve headquarters and Mr. Powell’s testimony to Congress about them.Credit...Caroline Gutman for The New York Times Instead, the judge surmised, the real reason the subpoenas were issued was political: because Mr. Trump wanted to strong-arm Mr. Powell into lowering interest rates.
“The subpoenas’ dominant (if not sole) purpose is to harass and pressure Powell either to yield to the president,” Judge Boasberg wrote, “or to resign and make way for a Fed chair who will.”

Jan Ransom reports:
For Mr. Bach, the tuition payments came as part of an agreement that Mr. Epstein would fund his research at M.I.T. and Harvard — and his family’s living costs in the United States — from about 2013 to 2019.
Mr. Bach, who studies theories of consciousness and artificial intelligence, said he was connected with Mr. Epstein by other prominent scientists. In all, Mr. Bach accepted more than $180,000 from Mr. Epstein and stayed in one of his Manhattan apartments for a time in 2015.  [emphasis added]
The payments included more than $31,000 in tuition for Mr. Bach’s children to attend the private German International School Boston in 2016 and 2017, emails show. School officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It’s likely that spineless Louisiana GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy M.D. will cower and cave when it comes to a vote on Casey Means For Surgeon General

Dr. Bill is chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP). He voted to confirm RFKjr as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He values his personal political survival over public health.

On February 21, 2021, Cassidy voted to convict Trump on a single article of impeachment, and he's been groveling for an endorsement at the altar of Trump every since.

It was NEVER going to happen, Dr. Swirl.

Lauren Fox and Sarah Owermohle report:
Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy in February 2025 weighed possible political peril against a long career in medicine, ultimately casting the critical vote to confirm known vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy as the president’s Health and Human Services secretary.
But the choice hasn’t guaranteed the senator’s political future. Now the incumbent who made a career out of advocating for vaccines is ensnared in a bitter primary election back home — without President Donald Trump’s support. And as he fights for his political life, he must decide whether to confirm a Kennedy ally, Casey Means, to serve as Trump’s surgeon general.
The saga of whether to schedule the vote and push for Means’ nomination despite headwinds is putting Cassidy back in the spotlight as he faces off in a three-way primary against Rep. Julia Letlow, who has been endorsed by the president and embraced by the “Make America Healthy Again” movement, and John Fleming, a state treasurer who has tried to establish himself as a conservative alternative in the race.
How much more evidence do you need, Dr. Bill, to know she is wholly unqualified for the position?
