“Of course, now the fear is that the ACIP (the committee) will be filled up with people who know nothing about vaccines except suspicion,” Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, wrote on X Wednesday evening. “I’ve just spoken with Secretary Kennedy, and I’ll continue to talk with him to ensure this is not the case.” [emphasis added]
More than any other senator, Cassidy is responsible for Kennedy, a controversial pick, being confirmed as secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As a physician, Cassidy repeatedly has said how important vaccines are to preventing and treating disease.
