So far this election cycle, Taylor Fresh Foods — North America’s largest salad producer and the parent company of Taylor Farms — has donated $2.2 million solely to Republican PACs. That includes $1 million to Trump’s MAGA, Inc. PAC in March 2025, just six days after the FDA delayed enforcement of new food tracing requirements until 2028.
This isn’t Taylor Farms’ first association with foodborne illness. In 2024, E. coli-infected slivered onions sold by the company to McDonald’s restaurants sickened at least 104 people and killed one. [emphasis added]
