Brian Baldridge, Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, explained that Ohio lies in the path of migratory birds, making avian flu outbreaks inevitable. From 2022 to Christmas Eve 2024, 9.4 million birds were culled. In just over two months since then, 15 million birds have been slaughtered.
