What's the matter with Iowa? Nutcase posing as legislator wants to house librarians in prison

Rep. Helena Hayes, R-New Sharon, the bill's author and chair of the subcommittee, said the question is whether Iowa's libraries should remain exempt from the states' obscenity law. 

"I certainly don’t think it's a book ban," she said. "I know that’s an easy out. If anybody wants to do anything about age appropriateness or talking about books or setting any boundaries whatsoever, it’s automatically seen to be a book ban."

According to Merriam-Webster, the first-known use of 'nutcase', as in a foolish or eccentric person, occurred in 1955.
