Link to March 16 Kenosha News article.
Excerpt: Mary Ellen Close, who was library director for 26 years, was demoted by the Community Library Board last October, then terminated without cause Jan. 20. The board has never publicly stated the reason for the demotion or the firing.
Close filed suit in Kenosha Circuit Court Feb. 24 for non-payment of wages, saying the district failed to pay her $14,640 in wages, accrued sick time, holiday and vacation time after she was terminated.
