Aya Miller reports:
The noise is coming from across the street.
It’s Hyperscale Data’s 30-megawatt data center at 415 E. Prairie Ronde St. in Dowagiac, a small city of 5,700 people in Southwest Michigan.
This may just be the beginning: Hyperscale Data has plans to expand to 340 megawatts. The Finns fear the expansion will make the noise worse.
“It’s like we’re living in a prison in our own yard, in our own house,” Marjorie Finn said, sitting in her living room. Behind her, the data center is visible through white lace curtains.
