The court’s decision comes as there has been a push to redraw congressional maps across the country to gerrymander new partisan advantages ahead of the 2026 midterms. Republicans now have a 6-2 majority in the Wisconsin delegation.
The two challenges now before the Wisconsin Supreme Court seek to use a 2011 law Republicans authored directing the justices to appoint a panel of three circuit court judges when a challenge is filed to a congressional district.
