The crashes, injuries and fatalities last year come with a raft of other troubling trends: The majority of crashes happen on weekends, with 21% on Fridays and 28% on Saturdays. About half of fatalities were alcohol related. In 85% of cases, people were not wearing helmets when they died. In 80% of the UTV fatalities, they were not wearing a seatbelt as required.
