Russell was an impressively steady performer during most of the 20th century, spending 83 years in the top 100 and peaking at #48 in 1904.  His popularity started to wane during the 1980s but levelled off around 2005.  He briefly looked as though he might be embarking on a comeback, but those hopes appear to have been dashed.
