Wisconsin 2024 elections: Milwaukee Democrat Sequanna Taylor announces candidacy for 11th Assembly District


Sequanna Taylor currently serves on the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors.

Dora Drake (D-Milwaukee) currently represents the 11th, an overwhelmingly Democratic district.  She is running for an open seat in th3 4th Senate District.

Since 2016, she has served as Milwaukee County Board supervisor representing the northwest side district. Taylor was re-elected with no challengers in April. She has served on the county's community, environment and economic development, and finance committees. 
She most recently served as the County Board's vice chair. She did not seek re-election for the position during a County Board vote earlier this month. Taylor was also formerly a member of the Milwaukee School Board and previously was president of the Milwaukee Education Assistant Association. 
In mid-November, Taylor began working for the City of Milwaukee as the Family Violence Prevention program coordinator in the Department of Administration's Office of Community Wellness and Safety, according to the city's employee relations.
