“Don’t forget if you are unemployed today, you are making $16.75/hour and not required to look for work,” said Vos. “If employers are hiring at $14/hour how many people are going to make that choice?”
Don't forget, Robin. If employers are hiring at $14/hour, they're not offering a living wage in most cases.

This Chamber of Commerce Scrooge considers it an extravagant level of income.
Maybe he should try to live on it.
The business group said Friday that the supplemental unemployment benefit, part of the Biden administration’s efforts to support the pandemic-ravaged economy, results in about one in four recipients taking home more in unemployment pay than they earned when they were employed. In other words, recipients took home less than $7.50 per hour on average, $6.52 less per hour than a living wage.
Apparently, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce won't be happy until everyone is reduced to 'breaker boy' status.
