Reporting the Economic News Like There's Still an Abundance of Good-Paying Union Jobs Out There

Retail sales report suggests Americans are hesitant to spend.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 8/13/2014)

SuggestWhich could?  Hey, a lotta folks don't have the money to be hesitant about spending, Gomer.  The figures suggest that Americans are hesitant to spend, which could limit growth for the economy. Retail sales are closely watched because consumer spending accounts for 70% of economic activity.



Retail sales have flatlined even though employers have added more than 200,000 jobs a month for the past six months. Payrolls increased by 209,000 in July and 298,000 in June.

An average of 200,000 jobs per month.  As Officer Gunther Toody used to say
