Lynchburg Public Library Breaks Ground for Storytime Room

New story-time room breaks ground for Lynchburg library. (Lynchburg News & Advance, 3/20/2014)

A community project. Fundraising started in 2011 with St. John’s Episcopal Church, which gave $150,000 as part of its 100th anniversary celebration.

More support followed from major donors like Liberty University; retired library director Lynn Dodge; and Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library, a nonprofit that received 250 contributions. The entire project is budgeted to cost nearly $450,000.

The city’s contribution was just $10,000.

From a few years ago.

Lynchburg has a main library and a downtown branch/public law library.
