Located in the Jacksonville metro area, St. Johns is the 2nd fastest growing county in Florida and 15th-fastest in the U.S.  Its population having increased 638% since 1970, compared to a 17% increase in Gadsden County, Florida's least healthy, during the same period.  St. Johns' nonwhite population is 16.4% compared to 66.5% for Wilcox.
