GET ME REWRITE: How naive is Rebecca Kleefisch?

This sycophantic naïve!

“Largely in Wisconsin I see only unity over policy victories,” Kleefisch said. “Now there may be some division over personality and whether (Trump’s) Twitter account was helpful or harmful, but at the end of the day Donald Trump is not going to be on the ballot, but his policy legacy is.”
This from someone who one Scott Walker staffer dismissed with the comment, "I don't see how anyone can take this woman seriously."

Happy 2022, WI GOP.

GET ME REWRITE. Three Wisconsin GOP Supreme Court lapdogs chew on doggy bones from one of Scott Walker biggest donors

Wisconsin State Journal, 6/26/2021
The 4-3 decision is another decided by conservative Justice Brian Hagedorn’s swing vote. Hagedorn joined liberal justices in declining to hear the lawsuit filed in March against the Wisconsin Elections Commission, Madison, Milwaukee and others by Jere Fabick, a prominent Republican donor and president of Fabick Cat, the Caterpillar equipment and engine dealer.

New York Times, 12/20/2020

Justice Hagedorn has in recent days found himself at odds not just with his political base but with his fellow conservative justices, who have spared little expense in showing their anger at him in judicial dissents defending Mr. Trump’s case.

Wisconsin State Journal, 12/18/2020
The conservative-backed justices — except Hagedorn, a key swing vote — remained mostly silent.

GET ME REWRITE. Meet Tom Tiffany: Trump sycophant and ill-informed charlatan with a shameful resume as an elected official

Capital Times, 6/25/2021
Since he was elected to Congress in a special election to fill out the term of another Walker sycophant, Sean Duffy, in May of last year and then elected to a full two-year term last November, Tiffany has flown the colors of Donald Trump more than even some of his GOP colleagues have been able to stomach.
He's on board with the "stolen" election. He and another Wisconsin freshman Republican congressman, Scott Fitzgerald, advocated to have Vice President Mike Pence refuse to certify the election results. Tiffany's been against pandemic relief that has helped his own constituents, and he's a naysayer on the COVID-19 vaccines. Quite a resume for a former Wisconsin legislator who spent most of his time dismantling environmental regulations that have served to protect northwest Wisconsin's rivers, lakes and scenic beauty.
But he gets elected, usually fairly easily. Before the GOP-controlled Legislature figured out how to gerrymander the state's political boundaries, Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District was represented by the likes of Republican Mel Laird and then Democrat Dave Obey. Both Laird and Obey became accomplished and revered lawmakers, mightily contributing to the nation's progress.\
Now an ill-informed charlatan like Tiffany carries the banner for a part of the state that deserves so much better.

6/24/2021 update, "Tom Tiffany is pathetic", starts here.

The Seventh District congressman is an unapologetic right-wing zealot, who participated in efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and who has a history of anti-democratic agitation. But the vote on the Juneteenth holiday was different from Tiffany’s predictable votes on behalf of Donald Trump’s authoritarian scheming.
Most Republicans, most conservatives and most Trump apologists voted for the holiday. Tiffany’s vote against recognizing and celebrating Juneteenth was accompanied by a delusional statement in which the representative tried to explain his position by claiming that, "Once again, House Democrats have used their majority to balkanize our country and fuel separatism by creating a race-based 'Independence Day.'"
Even by the dumbed-down standards that are applied to this particular congressman, Tiffany’s statement was pathetic.

6/18/2021 update, "GET ME REWRITE:  In politics, Tom Tiffany keeps movin' on up to ever higher levels of incompetence", starts here.

The Peter Principle in action.

You don't get more despicably off-the-mark than this.
"Once again, House Democrats have used their majority to balkanize our country and fuel separatism by creating a race-based 'Independence Day,'" Tiffany, R-Minocqua, said in a statement. "There is only one Independence Day in America, just as there is only one National Anthem, one American flag and one America — under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
"It is unfortunate," he continued, "that some have chosen to politicize the naming of this important historical event — one of many momentous milestones in America’s shared journey that began in 1776 to create a more perfect union — to turn Americans against one another and foment division based on skin color instead of uniting us."

We are reckoning with whiteness here.

The bill passed the House 415-14 after the Senate unanimously passed the legislation Tuesday. The 14 Republicans to vote against the bill were Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Scott DesJarlais of Tennessee, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin, Doug LaMalfa of California, Tom McClintock of California, Mike Rogers of Alabama, Matt Rosendale of Montana, Ronny Jackson of Texas, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Chip Roy of Texas and Paul Gosar of Arizona.  (shown in order, left to right, in the photo collage above)
