The costs — about $143,000 in one case and $98,000 in another — will ultimately be covered by taxpayers and add another bill to the Gableman-led review, which was initially allocated $676,000 in taxpayer funds but has ended up costing more than $2 million due to legal fees and other court costs. Gableman's review found no evidence of widespread fraud in the state's 2020 election but did manage to rack up a laundry list of alleged attorney conduct violations against Gableman, according to a disciplinary complaint released last month by the office that regulates attorneys in Wisconsin.
