GET ME REWRITE: Wisconsin GOP leadership looks to GOAT programs but cant bring itself to save lives

Headline:  Cap Times, 12/23/2024
According to data provided to the Cap Times by Hesselbein, Democrats in the state Legislature brought forward 12 bills seeking to update gun laws in Wisconsin last session.
One proposal sought to implement a 48-hour waiting period to purchase a gun in an attempt to allow for a “cooling off period” if the purchaser might be a danger to themselves or others, Hesselbein said. Another would have provided a tax credit to Wisconsinites who buy a gun safe or trigger lock device to keep firearms more secure in the home. Lawmakers also proposed universal background checks and a red flag law.
None of the bills passed and GOP leadership remains resistant to tightening gun policy. [emphasis added]

In support of gun sense,.
