Day 897 of GOP election denier hysteria (Trump Big Lie Clown Show Circus, Louisiana edition)

Meet the stars of the
ATTACK Of the Clown Show zombies

Starring Louisiana Secretary of State
candidate Brandon Trosclair
Headline American Press, 4/15/2023
Brandon Trosclair, an Ascension Parish businessman, who has also announced for secretary of state, added to those baseless claims when he said he was “appalled by the trainwreck of political infighting and questionable ethics that has characterized the current secretary of state’s time in office. He’s had multiple chances to clean up the mess he’s made …”
The newspaper said Trosclair “has aligned himself with a movement of conservative activists who believe there has been widespread fraud in Louisiana’s elections, something that election officials and experts say is not true.”

Disgraced Colorado County Clerk
Tina Peters
New York Times, 4/6/2023
In a livestream last month on Rumble, the streaming platform popular among right-wing influencers, Tina Peters, a former county clerk in Colorado who was indicted on 10 charges related to allegations that she tampered with Dominion’s election equipment, devoted more than an hour to various election fraud claims, many of them featuring Dominion. The discussion included a suggestion that because boxes belonging to Dominion were stamped with “Made in China,” the election system was vulnerable to manipulation by the Chinese Communist Party.

Joe Oltmann
Host of "Conservative Daily Podcast"
New York Times, 4/6/2023
Joe Oltmann, the host of “Conservative Daily Podcast” and a promoter of voter fraud conspiracy theories, hosted an episode in late March titled “Dominion Is FINISHED.” In it, he claimed that there was a “device that’s used in Dominion machines to actually transfer ballots,” offering only speculative support.
“This changes everything,” Mr. Oltmann said/

King of Election Deniers Mike Lindell

New York Times, 4/6/2023
Not everyone is heeding the warning.
“Dominion, why don’t you show us what’s inside your machines?” Mike Lindell, the MyPillow executive and prominent election denier, shouted during a livestream last month. He added that the company, which has filed a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against him, was engaged in “the biggest cover-up for the biggest crime in United States history — probably in world history.”

Yakima County GOP Chair Matt Brown
Headline:  Seattle Times, 4/8/2023
Said the Yakima County Republicans, one of many local GOP groups to issue statements: “We stand with Trump.”

failed congressional candidate
Joe Kent
Headline:  Seattle Times, 4/8/2023
Save it from the communists? Also scheduled to speak: failed congressional candidate Joe Kent, who said this week: “Trump is the leader for this era.”

Washington State GOP Chair
Caleb Heimlich
Headline:  Seattle Times, 4/8/2023
On Wednesday she [Liz Harrington, see below] tweeted: “Defund the DOJ and FBI!” Solely out of Trump worship, the GOP now has morphed into the party pushing to defund law enforcement.
Washington state GOP Chair Caleb Heimlich enthused in a video announcing Harrington’s appearance: “She’s going to talk big picture about the battle to save our country.”

Trump spokesperson Liz harrington

HeadlineSeattle Times, 4/8/2023
Local GOP political consultant Justin Matheson summed it up most bluntly last month in an interview with a rival Democratic consultant: “It’s time to move away from Trump.”\
So what is the party doing? Embracing Donald Trump, maybe more than ever.
The state party has announced the lineup for the biggest gathering of Republicans this year, a Tri-Cities event in May called the “2023 Republican Action Conference.” It’s an off-year rally and planning session for the huge 2024 election cycle.
The keynote speaker? It’s Trump’s top spokesperson, Liz Harrington.
Harrington, though, is a full-on election denier and conspiracy theorist. She has repeatedly stated, falsely, that the 2020 election was riddled with fraud, that it was stolen from Trump and that he really somehow won in a landslide.
