Time will eventually run out for Foxconn plant

THE AGENDA: A little red button and Foxconn: No matter the technology, it always becomes obsolete.  (Kenosha News, 8/26/2017)
Full-court FoxCon.  One of the questions asked about the Foxconn factory that will soon come to our part of the state is: How long will the technology be part of the products we consume?
Various state officials were on hand for a hearing in Sturtevant last week. When presented with that question, to a man they all said the plant will be relevant for generations.

The factory opened in 1902.  A sword has been hanging for years over the giant automobile factory here - the oldest operating auto-assembly plant in the country. The sword fell Wednesday when the Chrysler Corporation announced plans to close most of its Kenosha operations by the end of the 1988 model year.
Even though the plant has long been seen as living on borrowed time, many of the 5,500 workers who will lose their jobs by this fall are bitter.

Employment at the factory peaked at 16,000 jobs in the 1960s.
