If you check out the vote vallites of the August 11th Wisconsin primaries, as Retiring Guy has been doing, you'll find that the Democrats have a big advantage in enthusiasm, especially in the state's most populous counties.

Mitchell Schmidt reports:
Despite the considerable jump in early voting, the total number of returned absentee ballots — which includes those cast early in person and those mailed in — still lags behind 2022, when the state held its last gubernatorial election.
A total of 257,777 absentee ballots have been returned as of Wednesday, compared with 305,453 returned by this time in 2022, marking a 15.6% decrease. T
otal absentee ballot requests are also down. Just over 435,000 total ballots have been requested for the Nov. 3 election, or nearly 15% fewer than the more than 510,000 requested at this time in 2022.
Local election officials have said the drop in mail-in absentee ballots can be attributed to declining trust in the Postal Service’s ability to return the ballots in a timely manner and people’s preference for in-person absentee voting. Mail-in voting also continues to shift downward as the state moves further beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a sharp increase in mail-in voting.
