Regular gasoline prices are on the rise too, with costs across much of the state outpacing the national average, according to AAA. The recent increase follows an earlier spike that began in late April, when gas went up 74 cents in two weeks.
The price of diesel hit an average of $5.87 a gallon in Wisconsin on Wednesday, May 13, according to AAA. That's 20 cents higher than the previous record high, set at $5.67 a gallon on May 4. Before that, the record was $5.52 a gallon, set June 25, 2022.
