More than 3 months after publication of a Wisconsin State Journal article, Retiring Guy spots his first 'B' license plate

 
The sighting took place after an appointment with my optometrist.

After exhausting the roughly 4.7 million seven-character number-and-letter combinations that start with the first letter of the alphabet over the past eight years, the Department of Transportation is going to start issuing plates that start with the letter “B.” 
“Wisconsin DMV is proud to provide Wisconsin drivers the credentials they need to safely get from point A to point B and now we’re moving from A to B,” Division of Motor Vehicles Administrator Tommy Winkler said in a statement Thursday. “Drivers can ‘B’ on the lookout for the new license plates when they begin rolling out statewide this month.”  
It’s the first time since Wisconsin started issuing standard plates with seven characters — three letters followed by four numbers — in 2017 that the state will issue non-personalized plates starting with the second letter of the alphabet. Recommended for you…
