The Emergency Food Assistance Program is on pause amid a federal review, and it’s unclear whether the canceled food shipments will be restored, according to media reports.
It comes at a time when the Trump administration has made sweeping cuts across the federal government, including to other USDA food assistance programs.
Feeding America West Michigan is based in Kentwood and serves about half the state’s 83 counties, including West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. The food bank says it provided 26.7 million meals’ worth of food in 2024
