For a story on harried election clerk and MAGA Trump die-hards, New York Times reporter travels to Nevada county that has lost 92% of its population since its 1910 peak
Gold rush boom county of Esmeralda had 9,369 residents in 1910. Since then its population has dropped 92% to 729.
There is no mention in the text of the article that Esmeralda is the least populous county in Nevada and the 20th least populous county in the United States.
