The proposed building would be far taller than its one-story commercial neighbors such as Tai Chi Center of Madison, Taqueria El Jalapeno, Santa Maria Grocery, Le Tigre Lounge and Dorn Tru Value hardware, as well as older and newer lower-scale housing in the vicinity.
By its size, it would become a gateway marker from the Beltline to the Crawford-Marlborough-Nakoma and Summit Woods neighborhoods.
The location has many positive attributes, including the existing housing and neighborhood to the north and east, as well as access to the Beltline going east and west, Highway 18-151 heading south, and Midvale Boulevard and Nakoma Road heading toward Downtown for employment opportunities, said Randy Manning, owner’s representative for 401 North Third Street NV, LLC.
