Cibolo Creek Ranch, the luxury resort where Antonin Scalia died

Scalia had recently returned from a trip to Asia, where his last public event was a book signing in Hong Kong. John Poindexter, the Houston businessman who owns the Cibolo Creek Ranch, said Sunday that Scalia and a friend arrived Friday by chartered aircraft, traveling through Houston.

According to InsideGov, the political contributions of Cibolo Creek Ranch owner John Poindexter, lean Democratic.  Oh, mercy, more fuel for the conspiracy theorists' fires.


A stay there is gonna set you back.


Not conveniently located in the Big Bend area of.....


I guess this puts Scalia in the celebrity category, although there might be a Ralph Kramden joke lurking around somewhere.

Shiveringly coincidental:  An editor's note explains that this travel article was published before Scalia's death.  Today, 33 rooms are scattered among the three fort sites. Some visitors arrive by private plane, landing at the property’s own 5,300-foot asphalt airstrip. Guests have included Mick Jagger, Tommy Lee Jones and Julia Roberts.
