It was all downhill for Matilda after 1900, her peak year on the line graph.  In the late 1950s and early 1960s, she broke the surface gasping for air.  But it wasn't enough to sustain her.  She reappeared in 2008 and looked to be on the comeback trail until 2016, when she stalled out in the upper 400s.
