Excerpt: While her children attended school there, Rosenow, a stay-at-home mother, became involved as a room parent. She enjoyed helpining the classroom, attending field trips and helping with class parties and other activities.

“I just wanted to be there where the kids were, helping with what they were doing,” she said.

She also decided to volunteer in the school library. After her kids moved into older grades, Rosenow continued volunteering in the library.

“It’s been fun to watch it change and grow all during the years,” she said of the school. Rosenow helps once a week in the library.

“She assists students in finding great books, checks in and checks out materials, does bulletin boards, assists with magazine circulation, helps in the computer lab and is Clayton’s official ‘Book Doctor,’” said Cheri Miller, Clayton School Media Specialist.

As the “Book Doctor,” Rosenow has mended library books as well as books in classroom libraries, said Miller
