During the first few months of 1964, as Beatlemania swept across the United States, the Beatles held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 consecutive weeks.
In early May, Louis Armstrong became the first artist to knock the Beatles out of the #1 position with "Hello Dolly". Mary Wells then kept the Fab Four at bay for additional two weeks with "My Guy"
In early June, the Dixiecups "Chapel of Love" limited the Beatles' "Love Me Do" to a single week at #1.
In mid-August, Dino's "Everybody Loves Somebody" was the third song to deliver a knockout punch.
