GET ME REWRITE: Trump performs poorly in Iowa's two major state university counties

Johnson County, home of the University of Iowa in Iowa City, is the only country where Trump did not receive a plurality of the vote.   Ames in Story County, just north of Des Moines, is where Iowa State University is located.

In fact, he did worst in these two counties.

Trump received just over one-third of the vote in both Johnson and Story counties, Nikki Haley picking up most of the slack.

59.8% of  Iowa City residents 25 years and older have a bachelor's degree or higher compared to 30.2% statewide in Iowa and 34.3% nationally.

62.8% of Ames residents 25 years and older have a bachelor's degree or higher.

Are we talking about Trump University here?

Then came Mr. Trump’s resurgence, in which he rallied every corner of the party, including the white working class. But few cross-sections of Republicans rebounded as much as college-educated conservatives, a review of state and national polls during the past 14 months shows.

Watch what college-educated voters do, not what a select few tell the pollsters.
