Election results: New York Times
Polk County is the Iowa's most populous county with 510,089 residents. Des Moines, its county seat, is the state's largest city (population 212,031). 38.9% of Polk County residents 25 years and older have a bachelor's degree or higher compared to 30.2% statewide in Iowa and 34.3% nationally.
Suburban Dallas County is Iowa's fastest growing, its population having increased 235% since 1990.
51.5% of Dallas County residents 25 years and older have a bachelor's degree or higher.
Which is most likely a factor as to why Donald Trump is helping to turn Dallas County from red to purple.
The four Iowa counties where Trump turned in his worst performances are the counties with the state's highest levels of education.
